Run Romex Through Roof Truss Web

Do i need to run the romex wiring through a conduit if i m running the wiring through wooden studs or is it acceptable to run the romex as is horizontally behind the drywall of a bedroom.

I did a lot of reading about it but am confused about the best way to do it. Hi all i have to run some romex in my attic. I would staple the wire to the bottom of the floor joists and run it up through the wall and directly to the spa panel. When romex is run across rafters in an open unfinished attic it is my position that a raceway of some kind 1x3 s or even 2x4 s should first be attached across the affected rafters perhaps 3 to 4 above the joists then the wiring be stapled to the raceway.
