I thought i wanted a chromoly cage for a weight savings but now thinking about mild steel.
If it s chromoly then i just have to replace a couple of struts and add more to my roll cage to bring it to specs.
The chromium adds strength hardenability and a level of corrosion resistance to mild carbon steel though chromoly is not as corrosion resistant as stainless steel.
Write or wrong thinking.
Had i to do it over again i would still go with mild steel.
